PhytoGen Awards Grand-Prize, Regional Winners In Best Yielder Club Sweepstakes

Texas grower wins a trailer and pallet of PhytoGen® cottonseed

Jimmy Glaser of Rosebud, Texas, just received a boost for his cotton operation. Glaser is the grand-prize winner of the 2015 PhytoGen Best Yielder Club sweepstakes and was awarded a utility trailer and a pallet of PhytoGen® cottonseed. More than $40,000 worth of prizes was awarded to Best Yielder Club members across the Cotton Belt. Glaser was announced the winner at the July 31 Driving Farm Solutions media event in Leland, Miss.

"PhytoGen is definitely my favorite variety to plant," says Glaser, who planted PhytoGen brand PHY 333 WRF on his farm last year. "I’ve entered the Best Yielder Club every year, but I’m quite surprised to win!"

Glaser is grateful for the free seed he estimates will cover 250 acres. He is also very happy with the rugged 16-foot trailer with a 12,000-pound payload capacity.

"The seed alone is a good prize, but the trailer is a very nice addition," he says. "The trailer is well-made. And since it doesn't have side rails, it'll load really easily — just drop seed on it with a forklift and go."

Seven regional winners in the Best Yielder Club sweepstakes received a minifridge and a job-site radio courtesy of PhytoGen. The regional winners are:

  • Wally Childress, Bogota, TN
  • Billy Eggemeyer, Midland, TX
  • Brian Fyfe, Lyon, MS
  • James Hatfield, Franklin, VA
  • Jay Larson, Thatcher, AZ
  • Ted Milliron, Shellman, GA
  • Nicholas Pinkston, Sinton, TX

Successful growers of PhytoGen cottonseed are encouraged to annually join the Best Yielder Club. Upon joining, members receive PhytoGen Best Yielder Club gear and are entered for a chance to win the grand prize. Grower photos and quotes about their experiences with PhytoGen cottonseed are shared weekly on the PhytoGen Facebook page.
